MATILDE CROSETTI
Malambo
Mixed Media on canvas
200 x 250 cm | 79 x 98 in
Crosetti’s paintings are the result of her observations of nature, a lifelong journey that began with her upbringing in the Argentine countryside surrounded by horses and the pampas. She combines nature and animal movements to pay tribute to the vastness of nature around us all with her timeless masterpieces.
Crosetti explores the cultural diversity, identity as Argentinians and the Gaucha “orphan” culture as a mix of both civilizations: Europeans and Natives.
“I don’t need to tell you what you should paint, artists; just open your eyes and see your homeland. I call that great art… The roots and our strength are in cultivating our own” FERNANDO FADER
